TyQun Harris-Oxendine is the Dean of Students at Cosby High School, bringing more than a decade of experience in special education, behavior support, and student mentorship across Central Virginia. A proud alum of Norfolk State University, where he earned his bachelor’s degree as well as competed as a long jumper on the 2010 MEAC Championship Track & Field Team. He later continued his academic pursuits at Virginia State University, completing a master’s degree, and most recently earned an Educational Leadership & Policy Studies certificate from the University of Richmond to support his growth as a school leader.
Before joining Cosby High School, Mr. Harris-Oxendine served Henrico County Public Schools from 2015 to 2025 as both a self-contained and collaborative special education teacher, supporting students with diverse learning needs and advocating for equitable academic and behavioral support. In 2023, he expanded his leadership into the community as the Coordinator of Mentorship for Ox Performance his family’s nonprofit organization focused on social-emotional development, academic success, and fitness-based programming for youth across Chesterfield and Richmond.
With a passion for building strong relationships, fostering school pride, and helping students reach their greatest potential, Mr. Harris-Oxendine is excited to serve the Titan community in the 2025–2026 school year and beyond. His mission is to create safe, engaging, and empowering environments where every student can learn, grow, and succeed.
